D-Cat is a small sailboat that is well suitable for lake and coastal sailing.  It
combines a stable, traditional, affordable sailboat design used in the United States
for over 150 years with modern innovations in rigging, sail, hull, and cabin
design.
The D-Cat was made for the lakes and coast and River.
We had to consider in the design. First above all we wanted a stable boat so a number
of people could ride on it in comfort and safety. Our design is buoyant and
safe.  The D-Cat is very shallow with the centerboard up, but with the centerboard
down it is over four feet deep and very stable.
-We wanted a mast that could be lowered easily because we need to go under bridges
on the canals, and a simple sailing rig for easy use and control of the sail.
-We wanted a well-designed cabin that could sleep four in the Cruiser and two in
the Day Sailer.  And we wanted an area that could accommodate a cooking unit, an
icebox, a sink, and an enclosed toilet for privacy.  The D-Cat 18 line fulfills
all these conditions.  The D-Cat  is not as big, but is one of the most affordable
"Pocket Yachts" in the world.
